MCDOWELL MOUNTAIN RANCH

With just over 100,000 residents, McDowell Mountain Ranch is one of Scottsdaleā€™s most established but manageable communities.

Stretched across 3,200 acres, with 26 unique neighborhoods, many of the homes are sprinkled throughout the foothills of picturesque McDowell Mountain for which the community is named.

Unlike many of the surrounding communities, McDowell Mountain Ranch still has room to grow! There are currently over 4,000 homes and condos here, but with so much acreage and wide-open spaces, there are plenty of empty lots still available. Most of the prime spots are 1 or 2-acre lots in well-established neighborhoods, so you have an opportunity to build the home of your dreams in a community that already has everything you need.

If youā€™re looking for an established home where you can move right in, youā€™re in luck. Most of the homes are spacious ranches or modern two-stories sitting on roomy lots with desert-landscaped lawns that fit in beautifully with the surrounding Sonoran Desert. Prices range from just over $200,000 to $750,000, making it an affordable choice for nearly any budget.

Downtown Scottsdale is a short drive up the highway, so itā€™s easy to go enjoy a night on the town, catch a game, or watch a live show in the city, then head back home to your oasis in the quiet desert hills.

If youā€™re looking for entertainment closer to home, the Ranch delivers. The McDowell Center and the Community Center specialize in indoor recreation and fitness, community events and classes, little league sports and more. The McDowell Center is available for public use and can be reserved to host your own private event. Clubs and organizations often use the facility to host meetings, so if you have a Boy Scout or Girl Scout, you might get to know this Center very well! At the Community Center, you can find an outdoor swimming pool, well-kept playground, volleyball and basketball courts, and even a spa. Ranch residents adore their local community and these centers always have a distinct family feel to them.

The McDowell Sonoran Preserve is also a local favorite. Situated right next to the community, this nationally renowned nature preserve has some of the best hiking and biking trails anywhere. As you take a brisk hike through the well-preserved hills, donā€™t forget to look up. Hot air balloons are a usual site, as are private pilots giving tours from above of the breathtaking landscape.
